Middle Fork Goodnews. Legendary Trout and Salmon Waters - Inquire

Float and fish in the heart of Togiak National Wildlife Refuge. The landscape is stunning and the fishery of the Middle Fork of the Goodnews is world class! The Middle Fork is renowned for it's run of Sockeye Salmon and King Salmon. If you haven't caught Kings on a fly you owe it to yourself. There is nothing else comparable to a 25# King porpoising across the river with your fly in it's jaw. Then there are the leopard Rainbows to consider.

Exploratory Creek, plus Agulapak River, Nerka & Beverly Lake - Inquire

To my knowledge this boreal creek has never been floated. Very remote with challenging access. It fishes very well hiking up from the Wood Tikchik Lake system. We'll fly in and float and explore in pack-rafts then later fish the world-renowned Agulapak River, Beverly Lake and Nerka Lake. Old Growth Rainbow, Arctic Char, Grayling, Sockeye, Northern Pike. Very adventurous!

July 22nd - 29th, 2012 - FULL
Unnamed Tributary of the Upper Nushagak

Very remote with challenging access portage. We'll fly in and float, wade, raft, and camp on a river that only a handful of exploratory anglers including R.A. Beattie in 2006 and Kate Rutherford / Mikey Schafer in 2007 have ever descended. Very adventurous! Very large Rainbow Trout. Some fine mouse water and pitching streamers into woody debris. Kings, Sockeye, Grayling, Pike also.

July 31st - August 7th, 2012 - FULL
Autumn begins on the Tundra

The Coho arrive in significant numbers on a little known tundra river far to the west where they join Kings, Sockeye, Chum, Pink Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Grayling, and Dolly Varden Char. This week typically blends the best weather of summer with the quickening urgency of Autumn. Brown bears will be seen on the hillsides eating ripe blue berries. Sandhill Cranes and Whitfronted Geese begin flocking up. In addition to the Salmon, August is a month for casting mouse patterns to Leopard Rainbows. The fishing is strong to say the least!

August 9th - 17th, 2012 - FULL
The Splendid Goodnews

Coho enter the Goodnews drainage in large numbers joining the other 4 species of Pacific Salmon. The sea run Dolly Varden, just fresh from the salt in their spawning colors, are spectacular. The autumn colors begin to permeate the tundra. Flocks of waterfowl trade across a vast horizon. The scenery scrolls past as we raft and wade down the magnificent middle fork or north fork valley. Every mile holds more fish.

August 18th - 26th, 2012 - FULL
Coho, Trophy Leopard Rainbow Trout and Char

The grand finale on the Goodnews River or another nameless, stellar, tundra river to the west. Coho, Rainbow, and Char on dry flies, on leeches, and dredging. Primarily sight-casting. Reels break, rods get field repairs, waders are on from coffee hour until nightfall. Autumn conditions. Bears grazing blueberry uplands.
