Grand Slam Week on the Main Fork of the Goodnews. – 2020

7 Nights and 8 days on the North Fork of the Goodnews is one of the Crown Jewels of Bristol Bay float Fly Fishing trips. We refer to this 70-mile float as the “Grand Slam” week; you have the opportunity to catch every species we target on the Goodnews. All 5 species of Pacific Salmon, Grayling, and Rainbows, in addition to incredible numbers of Dolly Varden Char and even Lake Trout. This river produces more “best day of my life” testimonials among our guests than any other for good reason. The fishery is very, very robust and it becomes apparent almost immediately. The scenery is outstanding from alpine headwaters to the estuary. Wildlife is abundant. The Mountains will surround us until our final day, a trait unique to the North Fork of the Goodnews. The ecosystem deserves the reputation among our guests as “The River of Life.” Free refills of fish are streaming into the river during our entire float making the week on this amazing river a profound experience for both expert anglers and entry-level fly casters.

Testimonials

Just then a large grizzly appeared through the willows at the far bank. It was a great Alaska scene. I will continue to explore Alaska with Mark as long as I hold up. John Merritt
I have a flood of memories from Alaska, but the most remarkable ones were fishing with Mark John Markoff
Our week was more than a pleasure.  It was a really great experience for both me and the boys.  Can't tell you how much we enjoyed it! Scott Slappey. Goodnews. July 17-25, 2014.
Thank you for the trip of of lifetime & for your fly fishing and casting tips, for your work, your kindnesses, and your good company! Chuck Harris. Kanektok River. August 22-31, 2014
I have fly fished Alaska for many years and this is the best. Not only the number of fish but the quality of the fishing . John Moore
The coho fishing started strong and just continued to strengthen, peaking by the hour. There was a session with Jim Bean at "Porpoise Flats" that goes down as the BEST 90 minutes of fishing in my life bar none. Really large silvers on every cast, we spent most of the time doubled up. I'm fairly certain there were no two happier people on the planet at that moment. Bob Erickson
They acted like horses compared to my Montana spring creek Rainbows Craig Roberts
Awesome Trip! A life changing event for me. We made a great team and worked well together, laughing and enjoying every moment. I personally am very grateful for the opportunity to meet and share those moments with all of you. Davide Picard. Kanektok River. June 27-July 5, 2014
Not a week goes by that I don't think about my fishing adventures with Mark Rutherford in the most remote, stunning, and productive fishery on the planet, Bristol Bay, Alaska. R.A. Beattie
You & Kate ... are outstanding people and role models Richard Voss
