Goodnews River Wilderness Fly Fishing Solitude. – 2021

This is the both the best week for camping with your family and best week of the year to hunt trophy Goodnews River Rainbows, huge Arctic Grayling, Dolly Varden Char, and King Salmon in solitude! We’ll float and fish the Middle Fork of the world-renowned Goodnews. The scenery is sublime. The staff will set up camp in some of the most beautiful wilderness scenery you can imagine. The Middle Fork is an “intimate river”, smaller water, shorter casts, and more wildlife than other Bristol Bay rivers. Its remoteness makes it a true adventure. This week tends to have the best weather of the entire Bristol Bay season with sun drenched days and midnight sun nights. We’ll fish dry flies and mouse patterns in the headwaters and streamers throughout. We will sight fish to King Salmon- the most powerful and challenging freshwater fish in North America and take trophy big sea run Dolly Varden Char. 6 Days and 5 nights of Rainbow, Grayling, Dolly Varden, Sockeye, Chum, and magnificent Kings. This is the most popular week for a family with young anglers and those anglers looking for a shorter trip.

Testimonials

Thank you for the trip of of lifetime & for your fly fishing and casting tips, for your work, your kindnesses, and your good company! Chuck Harris. Kanektok River. August 22-31, 2014
There was a hard strike with jumps and hollers to match my excitement. Such magnificent beings these Silver Bullet Coho are. Amy Robinson
I have a flood of memories from Alaska, but the most remarkable ones were fishing with Mark John Markoff
Our week was more than a pleasure.  It was a really great experience for both me and the boys.  Can't tell you how much we enjoyed it! Scott Slappey. Goodnews. July 17-25, 2014.
The coho fishing started strong and just continued to strengthen, peaking by the hour. There was a session with Jim Bean at "Porpoise Flats" that goes down as the BEST 90 minutes of fishing in my life bar none. Really large silvers on every cast, we spent most of the time doubled up. I'm fairly certain there were no two happier people on the planet at that moment. Bob Erickson
They acted like horses compared to my Montana spring creek Rainbows Craig Roberts
Just then a large grizzly appeared through the willows at the far bank. It was a great Alaska scene. I will continue to explore Alaska with Mark as long as I hold up. John Merritt
The absolute best fishing in my life; super guides who knew how to fish & tremendous food. Jon Trachta. July 17-25, 2014. Goodnews River.
I have fly fished Alaska for many years and this is the best. Not only the number of fish but the quality of the fishing . John Moore
It was a stellar week. Our time on the river strengthened my sense of purpose in life and changed the way I view the world. Bob Roark
